Rules & Guidelines

So you've decided you're going to enter an AUS Cheer Cheerleading competition?  Well you've come to the right place!  The Competition Handbook provides all the rules and guidelines you'll need to know to compete in an AUS Cheer competition.

We highly recommend that all coaches are familiar with the Handbook, and double-check their routines before competing, to avoid those pesky technical deductions.

Any clarifications or updates will be published below.  AUS Cheer will ONLY make rule changes once a year (after the Australian Grand Championships), in preparation for the new competition season.

All AUS Cheer competitions will follow the USASF/IASF Cheer level rules and Dance rules, as outlined in the Competition Handbook.  Please note that the USA competition season follows a different time frame, therefore rules that have been updated on the USASF website may not yet be implemented in Australia.

If you have any questions or feedback on the Competition Handbook, please email info@auscheer.org.au  All questions will be submitted to the Rules Committee, where a panel of qualified judges will make a binding interpretation, or decision.
